If you meet the following criteria, LAP-BAND may be the ideal solution for you.

• Your BMI is 40 or more.
• You weigh at least 60 pounds more than your ideal weight.
• Your BMI is 35 or more and you are suffering from serious health problems.
• You are at least 18 years old.
• You have a history of being overweight.
• You have made serious attempts to lose weight with only short-term success.
• You do not have another disease that could have caused your obesity, and you do not drink alcohol in excess.
